The Creatures games are the most advanced artificial life on your PC! They interact with you(and vise versa), eachother, and the enviroment around them. Oh, you might be wondering who "they" are, they are the Norns. Norns are cute cuddly creatures that you raise, teach, and love. Here is the known history of the Norns and their creators.......
The world of Albia is a very strange place. Its not a sphere, oh no, its a disk. The two flat surfaces of the disk are uninhabitable. But somehow life has survied at the very edge. And along that edge a powerful civilzation evolved; the Shee. The Shee ruled Albia peacfully for thousands of years.
While most other life were discovering fire and inventing the wheel the Shee were absorbed in biology. They knew all about DNA even before they knew about the wheel and axle. And while most civilizations were attacking eachother with pionted sticks and burning people for witchcraft, they had broken down their DNA and rearranged it. And...well to make a long story short, the Shee were very smart! And they used their immence intelligence to engineer new life forms. But it was trial and error. Their first try was a big mistake, it was the Grendel, a mean, viscious, nasty creature. But they tried again and came up with the Ettin, a particulary non-intelligent but peacful race. And finally they created the Norn, a lovable, adorable, peacful, and most of the time obedeint creature.
After many years of peaceful rule the Shee finally invented the wheel. Shortly after this they invented the telescope, and were very disapionted at what they discovered; they weren't the center of the universe as they had thought, and the other planets didn't face Albia as they seemed to, they were actually spheres. With this knowledge, the Shee set about creating an extremely large and high-tech spaceship, in hopes that they could find a spherical home so that they might have much more room for their labratorys. After awhile they left Albia for a new home.
